"I wish I were that Betta! This aquascape has a well composed slope with a nice variety of species. The large Vallisneria on the left and upward creeping Glossostigma in the foreground take away from the design. A mid-sized Cryptocoryne species would be a suitable alternative to the Vals. Taking a little time to clean the filter's intake strainer would help to keep it hidden better for the photo. " ---Phil Edwards

"Pretty tank, and a nicely sloping design. It will be hard to maintain considering the plants being used, but the aquarist has captured it at the right time for this contest. The Glosso is good and thick, and the stem plants have been carefully trimmed." ---Karen Randall

"The composition is excellent, but it looks as if the layout was created just for the picture. It lacks natural feeling. Glossostigma in the foreground should be pruned." ---Takashi Amano
