I like the lacey appearance of the plants you have chosen. Your "river" is nicely placed and has enough of a bend to make it "disappear" behind the plants. Unfortunately, I don't think that the pincusion effect of the straight pieces of bamboo adds anything positive to the layout. They are too harsh and overpower an otherwise delicate layout.

how about the plants! very interesting way of aquascaping using rare plants. The whole layout is different and I can olnly say that you focus so much in the bamboo section that the left side of the picture look rather thin. The 2:1 colud have been used better.
