One of the things I like about biotope aquariums is that they can encourage people to take a closer look at the environment around them. Kudos to you for taking the time to do your own research and collecting of local species.

I love this tank! It is so representative of a stickleback habitat and it is extremely attractive as well. Well done!

Very cool! I'd love to see a picture of the original habitat. The Gasterosteus seem to be thriving in that very natural tank. Good job!

Additional Information This biotope aquascape was inspired from a visit to a local lake. As a qualified sub-aqua diver I went into the water and observed the fish and plant species present. I tested the water temperature and chemistry (pH and hardness). I collected the hardscaping materials i.e. wood, stones and leaves from the lake. What you see here is a very realistic representation of what I saw and it was a joy to create it in my living space. pH 7.5, KH 6, GH 12, temp. 20C.
