Comments

It is a pitty to say but this biotpe layout deserves a much nicer tank. One that can be filled properly and does not show so clearly chipped glass (bottom right) and sillcone.

Well done on a pretty close representation of a backwater pool.

Additional Information The tank represents one of the clear water tributary in Rio Negro system (middle basin). Both species (P. axelrodi and H.rodwayi) inhabit forest streams and rather minor tributaries containing relatively slowly-moving water. Lack of plants, lots of dust and arganic matter on the bottom. The water is soft but not very acid. I used almost white sand, selected wood which imitates eroded tree and dark leaves. I belive that some algae are in order therefore I didn't remove them. I planned to entry this aquarium last year ("AGA 2013" on drawing), but finnaly I decided to show three other tanks.
