Awards and Judge Comments

This aquarist has obviously put a lot of work into his tank! The tank is quite pretty. I would prefer not to see quite such a jumble of fish types. In particular, the angels are likely to become problematic with all the smaller species as they mature in this small tank.

Lighting
Top surface of the tank is covered by plants so much more lighting then normal is needed. Because of that, I used four 18 watt Gro-Lux fluorescent bulbs. Sometimes according to needs one or two of the bulbs are closed. Lighting period is 14 hours in a day. To prevent algae at noons only one of the bulbs are left open for 3 hours.
Filtration
Eheim 2213 External filter.
Additional Information
CO2: Sanders floramat.
Fertilization: Home made solid fertilizer mixed with substrate and liquid (PMDD).
Water Changes: At least 15% per week.
Heating: 100 watts (in winter)
Water Chemistry: GH=15, KH=7, pH=6.8, NO2=16ppm, CO2=35mg/l
Food: Tetra Ruby, Tetra Prima, Tetra Tips.
