It is extremely difficult to create depth perception in this type of tank.

It is very difficult to assess the total impression of an entry when you can only see the tank in bits and pieces. I think this tank could benefit from a little less diversity both in fish life and plant life. There is also too much equipment in too obvious locations. Still the tank looks quite healthy and is probably very much enjoyed by those who see it.

Lighting This tank is placed in my balcony and gets diffused daylight as can be expected in the shade. In addition 160 watts of NO fluorescent @ 6000K ( 4 feet lamps ) + 46 watts of CFL to make up for the two ends of the tank, for 10 hours per day.
Filtration Eheim Professional II 2028.
Plants Temple plant, Echinodorus Tropica, Echinodorus bheleri, Echinodorus parviflorus, echinodorus tellennus, cryptocoryne-wenditi, willissi, willissi lucens, becketti, balansae, rotola walalichi, rotola sp. Green, rotola sp.red, echinodorus rubin "lucens", crinum calamistratum, microsorium pteropus windelov, microsorium pteropus, vescicularia dubyana, riccia fluitans, alteranthera reinicki, Eleocaris acicularis, water sprite, Bacopa sp., Anubias barteri, Anubias Barteri var. nana, Anubias augustifolia, Anubias caladifolia, "1705", Cyperus helferi, ludwiga - repens & grandulosa, eustralis stellata, heteranthera zosterifolia, lileopsis mauritania, lileopsis brasiliensis, sagittaria platyphyla, aponogeton ulvaceus, ergeria densa, blyxa sp., Twisted vallisneria, nymphea sp., micaranthemum micaranthemoides, hydrocotyle verticillata.

Materials Acid washed river sand over Duplarit G mixed bottom layer, River rocks, Malaysian driftwood, fossilised wood.
Additional Information Co2 from a bottle at 1 bubble per second fed into a Dupla reactor which can be seen in the right fore corner. Customised PMDD 3-5 drops / day, 300W heater. KH maintained by mixing DI water with tap water at about 4 degrees, GH at 4 - 5 degrees, Fe at 0.1 - 0.2 ppm, Nitrates about 5 ppm, phosphates about 0.1 ppm with a Dupla test kit, Co2 levels between 15 - 20 ppm, pH - 6.7- 6.9. Lighting is operated by a timer. Duplaplant used at 50% recommended dosage at water changes. Water change is 50% every 10 days. Substrate Fertiliser cones added at the time of setting up the tank. Plant Hormones - Gibberlins, Auxins and Zeatin added at setup to give the plants a boost and combat algae - discontinued now.
