Additional Information I wanted to replicate a piece of large woody debris in a floodplain. Naturally recruited trees will leave a depression beneath their rootwad when they fall. This depression coupled with the shelter from high flows created by the rootwad itself is an ideal habitat for slower velocity plants and fish. I placed the balansae on the opposite side of the wood as it would be growing in the faster water.
This tank was an attempt at a SE Asian only setup, but the Staurogyne wanted to be a part of it too.
