Third Place
The effort at creating an accurate Malawi biotope is obvious even down to the use of Vallisneria. Even though it's not the proper species a suitable substitute was found. Both the fish and plants look to be in excellent health. Congratulations on the spawnings I hope you have many more. Overall the aquascape is too symmetrical and static. As far as the fishes needs it looks excellent. Also the rounded granite rocks aren't likely to be found in Lake Malawi.
— Phil Edwards
A good layout however if the Vallisneria were positioned more towards the sides and the back of the aquarium a sense of depth would have been created that would intensify the visual impact.
— Ricky Cain
The way of stacking the stones looks unnatural. It could have looked better if the plants were arranged on both ends.
— Takashi Amano
This is a nice generalized representation of Lake Malawi. The layout is a little static however. I also doubt that it would be possible to find water-rounded stones piled in such a manner.
