#107: 11L Biotope Aquascape Puffer Stream

Comments

Although I understand that the yellowish cloudy water is another aspect of the biotope where the pufferfish is from it makes a really poor impression on the viewer. Clear it up -- tea-colored waters are usually clear in the wild. Also some plants such as the Cryptocoryne wendtii from Sri Lanka would not be found in the puffer's biotope.

This may be a good home for your puffers but the water looks cloudy as well as brown (brown would be OK cloudy is not) There is no coherent design to the placement of your plants. While it is important to try to faithfully reproduce a section of the wild in a biotope tank it is possible the same time to create an aesthetically pleasing arrangement of the materials used.

Additional Information There might be some inaccuracies here, but I tried to get as close to real as I could. I used dead leaves to soften the water (wow, it's soft), and tried to do water changes without filtration-- I also wanted to see from both sides so HOB filter is weak. I like the fact that the water is brown, the right color, and I like the fact that the tank is infested with duck weed. I replace the shrimp every month or so. I figure the puffers actually eat these types of shrimp in the wild.
