I am really struggling with these very small “biotope” tanks. It is really hard to give a realistic impression of any biotope with this small an amount of area/water.

Endlers are very enduring fish, able to survive in really hard conditions, though in wild they are considered to be extinct. At this point aquarium enthusiasts are fully responsible for keeping the pure lines of this species in our tanks.

About a year ago I was lucky to get 4 nice and healthy P-class couples of Poecilia wingei Campoma and started my Laguna Campoma biotope project.
This aquarium is a fully natural biotope with the least possible human interference.
The tank stands on the windowsill and in the morning it faces direct sunlight.
Filtration is done fully by sand substrate and water plants (Eichornia, Ceratophyllum, Salvinia, Potamogeton), which look healthy and grow in abundance. Water changes are about 1 l of RO water (like rain in nature) weekly.
The form of the tank (very long and shallow) gives a lot of space for fish and contributes to demonstration of their natural behaviour. Fish are healthy, act as in nature and reproduce regularely.
Species of all aquarium inhabitants and most decorations are the same as in Laguna Campoma.
