Awards and Comments

There is no information about what or where your biotope is. It is not up to the judges to guess this for you!
— Karen Randall
I can see what the aquascaper has tried to do here but several issues render a lower score:

- the display does not look like a pool from the Chaco (in wet or dry season) where these frogs live.
- the hardscape is not typical of that encountered in the habitat.
- there seems to be little opportunity for the frog to haul itself out of the water an important requirement for the species.
- the water is quite deep whereas these frogs prefer shallow riparian environments.

The translation of 神秘的蛙池 = Mysterious frog pond which would have been a super interesting biotope if it had a specific geographical location.
Just for fun I tried deducing where this habitat would be from using the plants native areas but that was impossible. So I then entered the species of frog in the gbif.org website which told me that it came from Paraguay South America.
