#333: 190L Dutch Aquascape The Royal Bengal Aqua Garden

Rumon Khan Dhaka, Bangladesh

Comments

Sorry this not Dutch Style; way too many red plants not enough structure and/or contrast.
— Marco Aukes
Gorgeous colors! Wow! I'd be proud to have this tank in my home. This tank would have ranked much higher if the scaper had paid more attention to what makes a good Dutch tank. I hate to sound like a drill sergeant (about rules) but composition matters in a competition. Too many stems. Too many red plants. Too many species. Insufficient contrast between groups. Underdeveloped foreground. Fix those issues and you could take the top spot next year.

Additional Information Every tank comes with a story. Since ADA soil is expensive, experiment was to minimize the cost by using Garden Soil and DIY LED Light. Even I couldn't get a Canister Filter because I had very limited budget that time. On the other hand, I needed to collect all the available plants first. There were no other options other than using two hang on filters. Fingers were badly crossed. But I had faith on my idea. In the beginning, I faced hair Algae due to the Light power and hours. All I did, just played around with the light hours and Co2 dosing. Within few months, tank became super stable. Colors of each and every single plants came out extraordinary. We have very limited aquatic plants available here. Tried my best to collect as many plants as possible. By the grace of Almighty, all went very well.
