Very nice colour contrasts which are boosted by the great health of the plants. One could consider this a more modern take on classical Dutch Style. However is lacks a bit of contrast in leave shape/size.

I simply love this tank. Gorgeous. Simple. Stunning. Precise trimming and maintenance. One of my favorites here. It is better looking than many higher ranked entries. Having fallen in love with this tank it pains me to downrank it because it is not a true Dutch tank. As with so many brilliant entries this year this is a Dutch-inspired Nature Aquarium. Trimming and planting styles are more Amano-esque than Dutch. There's nothing wrong with a hybrid style that borrows from both Dutch and Japanese approaches but winners in this category MUST come closer to the true definition of 'Dutch.' As with most entries in the Dutch category this year this tank scored very high on initial impression (wow factor) but quickly fell behind as score for composition was tallied because true Dutch tanks are all about rules of composition. This aquarist can easily take the #1 spot next year if he/she makes these changes: add a tall grass and a large leaved plant stay with 1 species per 10 cm add moss to the back wall.
