Additional Information The aquarium was set up based on Lion’s Cove - Lake Malawi biotope, Africa. I tried to replicate, as natural as I could, the zone where the open sand, meets the rocky shores
Unfortunately this aquarium does not look a lot like Lion's Cove in Lake Malawi. Here is a great resource when researching habitats and locations in Lake Malawi: http://www.malawi.si/Locations/slides/Lion%27s%20Cove.html The artificial background in the aquarium could represent the vertical face of a large rock along the shore but the slate used in the bottom is not like the rocks in Lion's Cove. Two of the species are found in that location and two are not. I do like the fish density in the display.... that is very realistic.
Accuracy of Plants and Animals for Biotope:
Mphanga and Boadzulu are not part of Lion's Cove so those variants of those species would not be found with L. caeruleus or with P. sp. 'Polit' from that region.
Accuracy of Hardscape:
See comments at the top.
Condition:
Overall the aquarium looks to be in great condition and the fish healthy.
