Very healthy plants. Good use of midground species. Great contrasts. Nice sense of depth. It takes a skilled aquarist to make a 50 cm tank seem twice as big. However there are far too many species for a tank this size. Too many congested stem plants. Try to avoid placing red plants next to each other - here the Alternanthera in the foreground is too similar to the Ludwigia glandulosa immediatly to the right. Not enough rosettes dark mosses and tall grasses. Lacks a clear focal point. The right end has four stair-stepped groups of almost perfectly equal width - this looks a bit less natural than the rest of the tank. A bright red species placed in the exact center of the tank creates unntural symmetry. Despite my clear love for this tank the excessive number of species will sadly cost it a top placement.

Healthy looking plants that appear to thrive in this aquarium. Big compliments for fitting all these plants into such a small tank but that is also the downside of this layout. By using too many different plants it loses the calm impression that Dutch Style is known for.
