#647: 240L Dutch Aquascape Where are my fish?

Comments

This aquarium is not balanced in terms of plants. On the left large groups are too exuberant and on the right relatively bare and moderately planted. Too much open back wall on the right.
The Nymphoides hydrophylla Taiwan could be moved to the right rear.
It looks as if the right part is only freshly planted and still has to grow.
The whole aquarium looks healthy.
Nice fish stock well distributed over the water layers.
Technology well hidden and out of sight.

The right third seems trimmed but not permitted the time to mature to optimal size whereas the left two-thirds is overgrown. Knowing when to trim each species given that each species grows at a different rate so that they all reach peak condition on photography day is a skill worth learning. A few months before photography day you need to know how many days are required for each species to go from 'trimmed to the bone' to 'fabulous perfection.' Then you trim each species on separate days based on that. The Lobelia street should ideally taper and disappear behind another bush - in this case if the Limnophila aromatica bush. The balance between left and right is lacking here and a bit more work on the contrasts (also in height) is required.
