Second Place
I love the fact that this aquarist has mixed Rift Lake fish and plants! While this might not be a "biotopically correct" tank it is a very attractive mix and the benefits that plants give to a fish tank make them well worth including if possible. The fish chosen are beautiful and compatible both with each other and with the plants.

I wish that the aquarist had used natural materials rather than flower pots as caves since these really jar the eye in an otherwise lovely aquascape. The cloudiness of the water also detracts from the "eye appeal".

In this tank the plants are not from Lake
Tanganyika. They don't grow there. It would be a
better idea to use Vallisneria spiralis or
Ceratophyllum submersum. But because fishes need
Oxygen (O2) urgently second place for this
tank is ok.
