General Impression/Faithful Reproduction of Biotope:
This is a challenging biotope to research and as such some more information about the biotope would be helpful. In general this aquarium suffers from a lack of biodiversity. The description says 'stream' and 'river' which suggests current but the layout of the hardscape is not typical of that type of hydrology. Tree roots on top of rocks are not realistic.

Accuracy of Plants and Animals for the Biotope:
There is a lot of information available for the newt/salamander species in this biotope. The consensus is that they are found in the very still water of ponds so they are not often found in the moving water of streams or rivers.

Accuracy of Hardscape:
Some more information about the biotope would be helpful. The rocks in the scape are small fractured and unweathered which is not a natural state for rocks in a stream or river except in places very close to the source where rocks may be falling into the stream regularly... typically high in mountains. By the time they make their way to the flood plains the rocks are tumbled and the edges smooth.

Condition:
The water is cloudy but the health of the animals appears to be good.
