When the choice is made to work with plant of only one color the contrasts of tones and shadows are very important to prevent a monotone aquarium.
Definitely that is not this case. Even using plants with the same tone of green the volume and sense of depth are given thanks to the shadows that were very well done and in the right places.
It is evident that the right side is the stronger and most important and the perspective line bring us to the other side naturally.
The differences of levels were very well worked and with this we have a very good sense of distance and depth. Note how the "mountains" in the end of path are far!
Talking about the path it is the high point of the layout because starts at the foreground disappear in the middleground and reappears in the begin of the back portion of the layout going straight through to the end. Good notion of naturalness and not obvious continuity.
Some points to improve this job:
1. Perhaps by using thinner tree trunks the overall appearance of the forest will improve a lot as some of them are thick.
2. More details at the foreground and in the path with small rocks and gravel are appreciated to offer a more natural impression.
"And that's all Folks."
Awesome work my sincere congratulations!
