#721: 1L Wabi-Kusa Serene endeavor

Hock Ng Westfield, United States

Comments

This wabi kusa expresses the beauty of the solitary qualities of the artform both in the planting aesthetic and how the display is presented with its vessel and lighting.

The wabi kusa comprised of healthy high-humidity plants commands its success from a restricted plant palette that highlights vast patches of M. 'Monte Carlo' or solitary Bucephalandra.

The display as an entire set is unobtrusive. The lack of substrate in the base of the bowl does allow for free-growing submerged moss and roots to be seen intertangling among those of the Salvinia. This does not detract nor benefit the display as a whole.

Well-executed. Great work.

I like the simplicity of the arrangement. Could have used some height to make the more dramatic
— JoAnn Fujii
An attractive display. It would show better with a solid wall behind it.
