This year the paludarium category has some absolutely beautiful entries and some that leave me scratching my head. I wish people would read the rules! There are some beautiful entries that have no chance at a prize because they don’t meet the criteria. Some have no plants in the water area and one has no water at all. Judges do not like to see tanks do poorly! Please make sure you know the rules and make us all happy!!!

It was an honor to judge the AGA Paludarium Category for 2022.
This category has some impressive works of art that clearly display the passion and energy that hobbyists pour into their entries. That being said I urge entrants to emphasize their plant husbandry. Suffering plants will ruin a beautifully-crafted paludarium without fail. Emphasize the transition from land to water. It is a fascinating scene in the natural world that only a Paludarium has the ability of capturing.
